hotel vondel

whenever i visit modefabriek in amsterdam for more than one day, i stay at hotel vondel. i've never experienced a hotel that is as welcoming and warm as this one. i know most places would like you to think of them as your home away from home, but for me, only hotel vondel has succeeded in living up to that promise. only major downside? they charge for wifi connection in your room - which i loathe. but there are computers and a wifi connection free to use in the restaurant. during breakfast, there's also a wide variety of magazines you can leaf through. but i have to say, complimentary wifi in your room should be a given these days.
