a room for living

for the longest time, i've avoided bringing any color into our place, but ever since i saw how lively a colorful library had made our living room, i've fully embraced the power of well executed touches of bright hues. i still like to keep a - literally - blank canvas, but i'm a big fan of how green and yellow currently bring a bit of summer into the house.

yep, we have the same chair! is it like the small version??? I think i am more of an eclectic girl, our walls are white and black, same idea: blank canvas. my color is orange. I went out to buy a sofa and i have chosen an orange B&B, so that was the color i worked with! i love to buy design classics because they are almost everlasting! so much in love with your library, but i don't have one because i am too messy! yours looks perfect and yes the touch of color is just right! i would love to see some more of your house/appartment? there are not many people who put a lot of effort into their interior!

PS, since i am an eclectic/camp girl, i work with fake flowers! very easy to bring in some color! i am too lazy to work with real flowers!

Thanks for your kind words sweeties :) It is indeed where I live with the boyfriend in Antwerp. I adore interior decorating, so I'm always tweaking and thinking of new ideas to make it feel and look very personal. Maybe I'll do another post on some other room soon...

Your home looks so beautiful. It's easy to understand from the photos that you put some serious thinking in how to decorate everything.
I love reading posts like these, they work very inspring.
Btw, I totally envy that library of yours...

Joining the library fans!
Quite happy with the one I have now but books and magazines are piling up and I would love a center piece for them to feature in. Could you tell me where you found this one? Thanks doll!

Hi Anne-Sophie,
We made this one from scratch, actually. Well, we bought the wood, obviously, but we had it cut by our measurements and we put it together outselves. I spent an entire weekend painting the damn thing, jetlagged and everything. It's not perfect, but we're so happy with it, as it reflects both of our personalities in its imperfections and personal touches. I highly recommend this as couple's therapy as well, by the way.
Cheers,
Steph
