i love it when creating order in my house seems to create peace of mind as well. also, i adore each and every one of these ingredients, but having them neatly organized makes them even more inspiring.

rotterdam in 24 hrs

 

in need of some quality time with friends, we took a trip to rotterdam this weekend. though i can't say i'm a big fan of the city - i found most of the architecture awfully depressing - we did find some nice restaurants, bars and cafés, and i loved the city's many bridges and the view on rotterdam at night from the euromast restaurant at 100 meters high.

 i can't believe i only just found out belgian designer elena vasilieva has a wonderful blog. it's a mix of where she goes, what she sees and what she designs. i'd love to go by her atelier in brussels and pick up those leather pants - but i'm afraid since she makes everything by hand, they'll probably be a little out of my price range. okay, so probably a lot, then.

i honestly don't think i've ever come across a video about fashion that was as uplifting and inspiring as this one by lina plioplyte for nowness. there are so many memorable quotes! my favorite was saved for last: "young woman, you're gonna be an old woman some day. don't worry about it. don't sweat it. don't worry about getting older. every era, it builds character." oh, and ari seth cohen's advanced style blog is a must read.

sunshine breakfast

 

they say in belgium you've gotta grab every opportunity to spend time outside in the sun. so that's exactly what i did this morning, which got off to a relaxing start, dreaming about future holidays.

home is where the swedes are

so apparently the swedes are not just good at decorating their homes, they're pretty much experts on selling them as well. i've never seen real estate websites with photography as beautiful as theirs. pretty inspirational. i learned my ideal home has lots of natural light, incredibly high ceilings, chevron hard wood floors and a balcony with a kick ass view.
