now here's one kate i hadn't heard about but wish would get as much coverage as will's wifey. opening ceremony buyer kate foley has the raddest appartment ever, and it's in brooklyn. need i go on? oh wait, she has rugs that she salvaged from patrick demarchelier's studio, an envying collection of bearbricks and the cutest kitten. there's something from everyone, so to say. so check out that interview over at refinery29, because kate really is as cool as she looks.

of course i find a store i fall in love with entirely, and it's in finland. pino means 'stack of things', but in this case, it means 'stack of really pretty things that you want upon seeing'. bonus part: it's basically a general store that sells stuff you actually need, too. kind of like a colourful non-monobrand uniqlo. please, someone. do this in antwerp.
p.s.: also, i'm really inspired by the interior, too! those collections of red neon sign letters and floating light bulbs. love it.

all that glitters

if you've been following this blog for a while now, you'll know i'm pretty much obsessed with confetti system. if you are new - welcome! and please check out confetti system. they rock. but it turns out they're not the only ones who produce glitter and fun up the lives of those surrounding them. i came across geronimo on the beautiful blog of oh joy and instantly fell in love. is that considered cheating on my first true love? i don't really care, i just want to decorate my entire office with nothing but glittery pinata's and giant balloons.

 i admit to having a slightly unhealthy fondness of maps. there. i said it. i'm a mapaholic. even if it only vaguely resembles actual cartography, i'll dig it. i have ork posters of brooklyn and new york, own another map of manhattan and one of paris by the super talented karen o'leary, and am seriously considering purchasing these wonderful illustrations of los angeles and san fransisco neighborhoods. i might be able to restrain myself until i've actually visited san fran, but i'm making no promises.

i couldn't be more into these neon striped hues right now. the dresses are lemlem - i hadn't heard of liya kebede's label, but i'm loving it. naturally, j.crew picked it up, fond as it is of neon colors this season. it's where i got my timex watch with its extra straps. the last pic is a close-up of a typically mexican blanket, which i'm cursing myself for having left behind in L.A.

addicted to statements

not usually into following trends, but i am digging all of those costume statement necklaces everywhere. i picked up a very cheap coral one in L.A. at lotta stensson's boutique, and i think it set in motion a small but very serious obsessive compulsive tendency to collect.

jen causy photographed some of brooklyn's coolest 'makers' in a style that is reminiscent of the selby, but somehow feels more personal. i love that i now know who and what is behind the liddabit candy, mast brothers chocolate and morris kitchen ginger syrup that i brought from ny last month. i do feel a little bit like i would want to be adopted by brooklyn.

rose bowl flea market

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

generally, i'm not really into festivals, and i'm definitely not a groupie of any kind. but witness me dropped at the rose bowl flea market in the company of mr. adriano goldschmied himself, and you'd beg to differ. i was so fricking excited, i didn't know what to do with myself. i think i managed to have a decent conversation with adriano, and i even managed to take some halfway decent snapshots. but i was too overwhelmed to take it all in.


i would do a lot of embarassing stuff to be able to go back to passadena on july 9 and 10, when there's the second annual LA street food fest on saturday, followed by the flea market on sunday. now that's what i'd call a perfect weekend.

there's just something about food trucks and vintage stalls that i can't resist.
