californication

i came across these pictures over at the fab scout's honor co blog, and thought they were immensely fitting to my mood lately. i'm so looking forward to our trip to california, it's not even funny. we're leaving tomorrow, and i'm secretly hoping life will be exactly like in these pictures from leroy grannis' book surf photography of the 1960s and 1970s. otherwise there's no way around it.
i need that book.
