escobar

i had heard a lot about escobar, yet it took me a while to finally make it there. it's run by my friend's sister and husband, and it is - in a word - charming. it has the right mix of vintage nostalgia and quirky warmth, the coffee menu is interesting and the food is good. it's near the city's diamond center, so i'm happy to have a client over there as an excuse to pop in to escobar a little more often in the future. also, if you're taking a train somewhere and have some time to kill, avoid the starbucks at the central station and come here for a more authentic cup of joe.

i've been pinning antwerp's most interesting places to go and discover for momedia's 100% antwerp board over on pinterest. go here to discover some of my favorites, along with a selection by other antwerp insiders.

Sounds like a new place to visit the next time I'm in Antwerp!

I am getting myself to Antwerp before the year is over! Escobar looks adorable. Love the Campbell's Soup pictures and those tarts in their cake stands look divine! Did you try anything?

@kelly you should - and so close to the station, too!

@lamb411 that sounds like a great idea :) i did have a couple of different coffees there, and a croque monsieur which was delicious and huuuge.
