the trouble with travel writing is my must-visit wish list grows exponentially when i research destinations. i just wrote an article about ghent, and it makes me feel like i should be spending more time there. i admit it does make it fun to plan my monthly visits to belgium, as i try to schedule as many appointments as possible at cool new(ish) locations.
i really want to check out clouds in my coffee for its vintage faema e61 espresso machine and confetti system decor (i'm a huge fan, as you may have already known), and design bed & breakfast shelter7 - which also houses an exhibition space. other cool places on my list (but not pictured) are cocktail bar jigger's, clothing and design shop humør by rewind, pop-up shop piet, laundromat annex café wasbar and specialty lunch spot balls&glory. interesting concepts, cool design, great typography and logo's - ghent seems to do everything right these days.

You should be spending more time there! Zoals ik al zei, Clouds is super en Wasbar is ook echt geslaagd! Balls&Glory en Jigger's staan bij mij ook op mijn lijstje.
To be honest, je hebt al het hot & happening in Gent al vervat in je lijstje maar mocht ik nog op iets komen, I'll be sure to let you know!
Ben toevallig bezig aan een artikel over nieuwe hotspots in Oost-Vlaanderen. In het Gentse is er het geweldige 'Bos Bloemen' (naast Eva Bos, Vlaanderenstraat), het prachtige 'Eat, Love, Tastings' (Onderbergen, ex-Mineral) en 'Eat, Love, Pizza' aan de andere zijde (Ajuinlei) en de traiteurwinkel 'Boxy Fine Foods' (Hoornstraat) is echt mooi. Een november komt er trouwens een nieuwe concept-resto in de Gasmeterlaan: M (ex-pop up Gaston). En accessoirewinkel 'Rio' (Lange Kruisstraat) heeft een geslaagd interieur. Voilà, je bent weer helemaal mee!
hey nel, yes, de eat love places zijn indeed very lovable :) van boxy en m was ik ook al op de hoogte, maar die andere adressen zijn nieuw voor mij - thanks voor de tips!

Ze hebben optimaal gebruik gemaakt van een smalle ruimte met box in box principe en de juwelen en kleding zijn ook fantastisch!
